In this article, an existing transmission line method model is investigated and shown to have some deficiencies. An alternative technique is introduced to enhance the transient and steady-state accuracy. Extremely good agreement is obtained between this new transmission line method and an analytical model. The model has been implemented in simulation of a number of highly dynamic systems and has been found to be robust and reliable.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1177\/0959651813515205","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2013,12,30]],"date-time":"2013-12-30T20:25:26Z","timestamp":1388435126000},"page":"193-206","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":14,"title":["An enhanced transmission line method for modelling laminar flow of liquid in pipelines"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"228","author":[{"given":"Nigel","family":"Johnston","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Bath, Bath, UK"}]},{"given":"Min","family":"Pan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Bath, Bath, UK"}]},{"given":"Sylwester","family":"Kudzma","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Bath, Bath, UK"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2013,12,29]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_3_3_2_2","unstructured":"MathWorks product documentation: segmented pipeline http:\/\/www.mathworks.it\/help\/toolbox\/physmod\/hydro\/ref\/segmentedpipeline.html (accessed June 2011)."},{"volume-title":"Proceedings of 8th international conference on pressure surges, safe design and operation of industrial pipe systems, BHR Group Conference Series","author":"Vitkovsky J","key":"e_1_3_3_3_2","unstructured":"Vitkovsky J, Lambert M, Simpson A, .
