In this paper, we model a three-attractor task exemplified in a team sport context. The model showed that an attacker\u2013defender dyadic system can be described by the angle x between a vector connecting the participants and the try line. This variable was proposed as an order parameter of the system and could be dynamically expressed by integrating a potential function. Empirical evidence has revealed that this kind of system has three stable attractors, with a potential function of the form V( x)=\u2212 k\n                    <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n                    x+ k\n                    <jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>\n                    ax\n                    <jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>\n                    \/2\u2212 bx\n                    <jats:sup>4<\/jats:sup>\n                    \/4+ x\n                    <jats:sup>6<\/jats:sup>\n                    \/6, where k\n                    <jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\n                    and k\n                    <jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>\n                    are two control parameters. Random fluctuations were also observed in system behavior, modeled as white noise \u03b5\n                    <jats:sub>t<\/jats:sub>\n                    , leading to the motion equation dx\/ dt = \u2212 dV\/ dx+ Q\n                    <jats:sup>0.5<\/jats:sup>\n                    \u03b5\n                    <jats:sub>t<\/jats:sub>\n                    , where Q is the noise variance.
