The existing protocols were not designed with that goal in mind. The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the most widely used protocol for network management on TCP\/IP networks, is no exception. Adapting the SNMP with a superimposition model may be a possible way to success in mobile environments management [1]. In this paper we evaluate the use of superimposition architecture to improve the performance of the SNMP protocol in a mobile computing architecture. An empirical environment was simu lated for the comparison of a conventional SNMP model and an adapted SNMP model.
