Here, we present the results of our post-trial survey that investigated the impressions of participating clinicians regarding the use of medical crowdsourcing and to identify factors influencing adoption of the technology. In all, 72 valid surveys were received from 85 registered users (85% response rate). The majority of clinicians (>80%) felt crowdsourcing would be useful to diagnose unusual cases, facilitate patient referrals, and problem-solve at the point of care. Perceived barriers to adoption included interruptions in workflow and the reluctance to publicly expose knowledge gaps. While considered a useful alternative to existing methods, future studies are needed to investigate whether the approach and application can be modified to effectively address these barriers, and to determine whether crowdsourcing will enhance provider performance and the quality of care delivered. <\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1177\/1460458214545896","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2014,8,29]],"date-time":"2014-08-29T04:37:49Z","timestamp":1409287069000},"page":"221-231","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":19,"title":["Provider impressions of the use of a mobile crowdsourcing app in medical practice"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"22","author":[{"given":"Max H","family":"Sims","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Rochester, USA"}]},{"given":"Maria","family":"Fagnano","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Rochester Medical Center, USA"}]},{"given":"Jill S","family":"Halterman","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Rochester Medical Center, USA"}]},{"given":"Marc W","family":"Halterman","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Rochester Medical Center, USA"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2014,8,28]]},"reference":[{"key":"bibr1-1460458214545896","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1080\/10810730.2011.593608"},{"key":"bibr2-1460458214545896","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1097\/ACM.0b013e3182308d7e"},{"key":"bibr3-1460458214545896","unstructured":"Howe J.
