We interviewed 32 Asian Americans aged 18\u201359 (\n                    <jats:italic toggle=\"yes\">M<\/jats:italic>\n                    \u2009=\u200926.63,\n                    <jats:italic toggle=\"yes\">SD<\/jats:italic>\n                    \u2009=\u20097.66; 28%\u2009=\u2009Ethnic Chinese) who had experienced anti-Asian sentiment on social media during the pandemic. Our study shows that social media played a contradictory role in how Asian Americans experience and cope with the surge in anti-Asian sentiment.
