The purpose of this research is to create a comparative analysis of geospatial data approaches for determining the best routes to construct roads in various types of environments. Three different methodologies: analytical hierarchy process (AHP), fuzzy overlay, and TOPSIS, using GIS and multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques are assessed and contrasted. To examine possible routes in a case study region, high-resolution geospatial data, including topography, land use, slopes, and hydrology, are utilized. The effectiveness of each approach is evaluated by variables, including a snow slide, watercourse, soil wash, gradient, earth composition, visibility conditions, and road features. The findings indicate that the technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) delivers superior environmental sensitivity, while fuzzy overlay and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) give the best-balanced solutions.
