Modern technology has put forward higher requirements for the preservation of ceramics, but there are many weak texture areas in ceramics, making their recognition difficult. Therefore, this study proposes a processing algorithm for ceramic weak texture regions based on the 3dMAX virtual simulation technology. This includes feature extraction and matching algorithms based on distance and texture combined with normalized cross-correlation coefficients, as well as motion structure optimization algorithms to solve coordinate drift problems. The experimental results show that the former algorithm improves the performance by 15\u201325% compared to scale invariant feature transformation and accelerated KAZE feature algorithm. Under the same accuracy conditions, the former algorithm has a higher recall rate and an average improvement of 27.4% in feature matching success rate. The latter algorithm has the highest degree of coordinate drift of only 1.03%, which is 14.9% and 6.4% higher than traditional algorithms and visual simultaneous localization and map construction algorithms, and the average time consumption is reduced by 17.9% and 15.1%, respectively. In summary, this study provides an effective approach for the digital preservation and cultural inheritance of traditional ceramic works, which is of great significance for promoting ceramic culture.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1177\/14727978251321741","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,3,12]],"date-time":"2025-03-12T03:32:04Z","timestamp":1741750324000},"page":"918-930","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["3D digital reconstruction and application of traditional ceramic design works based on 3dMAX virtual simulation technology"],"prefix":"10.66113","volume":"25","author":[{"given":"Xing","family":"Yue","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Sanmenxia Polytechnic"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"55691","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,3,12]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_3_2_2_2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1016\/j.ceramint.2021.06.238"},{"issue":"3","key":"e_1_3_2_3_2","first-page":"312","article-title":"Analysis and research hotspots of ceramic materials in textile application","volume":"23","author":"Huang R","year":"2022","unstructured":"Huang R, Yang X.
