As the narrative unfolds, it asks compelling questions about the nature of morality, the antagonism between the human and natural worlds, and whether or not humanity is worth saving. To this end, the narrative utilizes elements of naturalism and its more modern form, environmental fiction.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1177\/1555412015579489","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2015,4,8]],"date-time":"2015-04-08T21:02:55Z","timestamp":1428526975000},"page":"745-763","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1177\/sage-journals-update-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":11,"title":["The Reconstruction of Morality and the Evolution of Naturalism in\n <i>The Last of Us<\/i>"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"11","author":[{"given":"Amy M.","family":"Green","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, NV, USA"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2016,5,22]]},"reference":[{"key":"bibr1-1555412015579489","volume-title":"Desert Solitaire","author":"Abbey E.","year":"1968"},{"key":"bibr3-1555412015579489","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1017\/CCOL0521433002.002"},{"key":"bibr4-1555412015579489","volume-title":"Dead Island.
