{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,4,28]],"date-time":"2026-04-28T14:20:32Z","timestamp":1777386032931,"version":"3.51.4"},"reference-count":7,"publisher":"SAGE Publications","issue":"3","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2002,5,1]],"date-time":"2002-05-01T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1020211200000},"content-version":"tdm","delay-in-days":0,"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/page\/policies\/text-and-data-mining-license"}],"content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["American Journal of Rhinology"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2002,5]]},"abstract":"<jats:sec>\n                    <jats:title>Background<\/jats:title>\n                    <jats:p>Nasal obstruction is one of the most frequent and sometimes troublesome side effects of nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) therapy for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).<\/jats:p>\n                  <\/jats:sec>\n                  <jats:sec>\n                    <jats:title>Methods<\/jats:title>\n                    <jats:p>We describe a 60-year-old man with allergic seasonal rhinitis and OSAS, with worsening nasal symptoms 1 week after beginning home nCPAP, making nCPAP use difficult (nasal peak inspiratory flow [nPIF], 80 L\/minute [57% of his best]).<\/jats:p>\n                  <\/jats:sec>\n                  <jats:sec>\n                    <jats:title>Results<\/jats:title>\n                    <jats:p>No significant improvement was obtained with topical steroids or cold humidification. Heated humidification was then considered, achieving an improvement in mean nPIF and symptom scores.
