Signal Process."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2013,12]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title>\n          <jats:p>This paper presents new closed-form expressions for the symbol error probability (SEP) of <jats:italic>\u03b8<\/jats:italic>-QAM modulation with maximum ratio combining (MRC) receiver under <jats:italic>\u03b7<\/jats:italic>\u2212<jats:italic>\u03bc<\/jats:italic> and <jats:italic>\u03ba<\/jats:italic>\u2212<jats:italic>\u03bc<\/jats:italic> fading. The SEP formulae, obtained from the definite integrals of the moment generating function (MGF) of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the input of the MRC receiver, are written in terms of Lauricella functions.
