In this camera, we achieve pixelwise control of exposure parameters by using a liquid crystal on silicon. In particular, we can control not only the amount of exposure but also the exposure time pixel by pixel. We call the imaging as variable exposure time imaging. By using the variable exposure time imaging, we can suppress motion blur of bright regions. In addition, we propose a motion blur recovering method from variable exposure time images for obtaining more distinct images including darker regions.
