{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,1,14]],"date-time":"2026-01-14T14:24:07Z","timestamp":1768400647600,"version":"3.49.0"},"reference-count":16,"publisher":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC","issue":"1","content-domain":{"domain":["link.springer.com"],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["Mol Cancer"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2013,12]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title>\n          <jats:sec>\n            <jats:title>Background<\/jats:title>\n            <jats:p>\n              <jats:italic>NUP98<\/jats:italic> gene rearrangements have been reported in acute myeloid leukemia, giving rise to fusion proteins that seem to function as aberrant transcription factors, and are thought to be associated with poor prognosis.<\/jats:p>\n          <\/jats:sec>\n          <jats:sec>\n            <jats:title>Findings<\/jats:title>\n            <jats:p>A patient with treatment-related acute myeloid leukemia presented a t(3;11)(p11;p15) as the only cytogenetic abnormality. FISH and molecular genetic analyses identified a class 1 homeobox gene, <jats:italic>POU1F1<\/jats:italic>, located on chromosome 3p11, as the fusion partner of <jats:italic>NUP98<\/jats:italic>. In addition, we have found that the patient harbored an <jats:italic>FLT3-ITD<\/jats:italic> mutation, which most likely collaborated with the <jats:italic>NUP98-POU1F1<\/jats:italic> fusion gene in malignant transformation.<\/jats:p>\n          <\/jats:sec>\n          <jats:sec>\n            <jats:title>Conclusions<\/jats:title>\n            <jats:p>We have identified <jats:italic>POU1F1<\/jats:italic> as the <jats:italic>NUP98<\/jats:italic> fusion partner in therapy-related AML with a t(3;11)(p11;p15).
