As such, it is essential to establish cutoffs and reference values for high and low risk according to key risk factor outcomes. This study main objective was to determine the key physical fitness, body composition, physical activity, health condition and environmental hazard risk outcome cutoffs and interval reference values for stratified fall risk assessment in community-dwelling older adults.<\/jats:p>\n          <\/jats:sec>\n          <jats:sec>\n            <jats:title>Methods<\/jats:title>\n            <jats:p>Five-hundred community-dwelling Portuguese older adults (72.2\u2009\u00b1\u20095.4\u2009years) were assessed for falls, physical fitness, body composition, physical (in) activity, number of health conditions and environmental hazards, and sociodemographic characteristics.<\/jats:p>\n          <\/jats:sec>\n          <jats:sec>\n            <jats:title>Results<\/jats:title>\n            <jats:p>The established key outcomes and respective cutoffs and reference values used for fall risk stratification were multidimensional balance (low risk: score\u2009&gt;\u200933, moderate risk: score 32\u201333, high risk: score 30\u201331, and very high: score\u2009&lt;\u200930); lean body mass (low risk: &gt;\u200944\u2009kg, moderate risk: 42\u201344\u2009kg, high risk: 39\u201341\u2009kg, and very high: &lt;\u200939\u2009kg); fat body mass (low risk: &lt;\u200937%, moderate risk: 37\u201338%, high risk: 39\u201342%, and very high: &gt;\u200942%); total physical activity (low risk: &gt;\u20092800 Met-min\/wk., moderate risk: 2300\u20132800 Met-min\/wk., high risk: 1900\u20132300 Met-min\/wk., and very high: &lt;\u20091900 Met-min\/wk); rest period weekdays (low risk: &lt;\u20094\u2009h\/day, moderate risk: 4\u20134.4\u2009h\/day, high risk: 4.5\u20135\u2009h\/day, and very high: &gt;\u20095\u2009h\/day); health conditions (low risk: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009&lt;\u20093, moderate risk: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009=\u20093, high risk: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009=\u20094\u20135, and very high: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009&gt;\u20095); and environmental hazards (low risk: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009&lt;\u20095, moderate risk: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009=\u20095, high risk: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009=\u20096\u20138, and very high: <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\u2009&gt;\u20098).<\/jats:p>\n          <\/jats:sec>\n          <jats:sec>\n            <jats:title>Conclusions<\/jats:title>\n            <jats:p>Assessment of community-dwelling older adults\u2019 fall risk should focus on the above outcomes to establish individual older adults\u2019 fall risk profiles.
