The equations were derived from a global database with\n                    <jats:bold>M<\/jats:bold>\n                    3.0\u20137.9 events. We derived equations for the primary\n                    <jats:bold>M<\/jats:bold>\n                    \u2010 and distance\u2010dependence of the IMs after fixing the\n                    <jats:italic>V<\/jats:italic>\n                    <jats:sub>\n                      <jats:italic>S<\/jats:italic>\n                      30\n                    <\/jats:sub>\n                    \u2010based nonlinear site term from a parallel NGA\u2010West2 study. We then evaluated additional effects using mixed effects residuals analysis, which revealed no trends with source depth over the\n                    <jats:bold>M<\/jats:bold>\n                    range of interest, indistinct Class 1 and 2 event IMs, and basin depth effects that increase and decrease long\u2010period IMs for depths larger and smaller, respectively, than means from regional\n                    <jats:italic>V<\/jats:italic>\n                    <jats:sub>\n                      <jats:italic>S<\/jats:italic>\n                      30\n                    <\/jats:sub>\n                    \u2010depth relations.
