Often dismissed as an inchoate or marginal act, the authors reconsider scribbling here as a critical process that readies both makers and audiences for deeper engagement, understanding, and change. Eva-Marie Stern and Shelley Wall view scribbling as a hybrid form that links gestures of writing and drawing, a gesture that affords our bodyminds to move, explore, and maybe arrive at a new place without mandated directions, special knowledge, or skill.
