UERJ"],"abstract":"<jats:p>Objective: to evaluate, in a population sample, the level of health literacy of family Portuguese caregivers of the older adults with AD-d. Method: cross-sectional, exploratory, non-interventional, descriptive and analytical study with a non-random sample of 107 family caregivers of elderly people diagnosed with AD-d followed at the Neurology Service of the Centro Hospitalar e Universit\u00e1rio de Coimbra, Portugal. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. The following were used: a sociodemographic questionnaire and The Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge Scale. The Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis and Spearman correlation tests were applied, at a significance level of 5%. Results: the level of knowledge of caregivers family members about Alzheimer's disease is between 63.3% and 70%. The highest score was found in the \u201cSymptoms\u201d domain (80.6\u00b121.0), and the lowest in the \u201cBeing a caregiver\u201d domain (53.8\u00b119.3).
