{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2024,11,24]],"date-time":"2024-11-24T05:10:25Z","timestamp":1732425025674,"version":"3.28.0"},"reference-count":0,"publisher":"Project MUSE","issue":"3","content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["lib"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2024,2]]},"abstract":"<jats:p xml:lang=\"en\"> Abstract: This article documents our attempt, through primary and secondary source research, including French archival sources, to understand how a copy of Ibn Battuta's (d. 1369) Rihla manuscript, dictated to Ibn Juzayy (d. 1357) at the request of the Moroccan sultan in the 1400s, made its way from North Africa to the Biblioth\u00e8que nationale de France in Paris during the 1800s. It also seeks to understand why there has been so little interest in the provenance of the Rihla manuscript held at the Biblioth\u00e8que nationale de France.
