Zentrales Element stellt dabei die Weiterentwicklung konventioneller Abfallbeh\u00e4lter zu intelligenten \u201eSmart Bins\u201c dar. Hier verspricht insbesondere der Einsatz von Sensorik zur Erkennung von F\u00fcllgraden eine effizientere und effektivere Abhollogistik. Abfallbeh\u00e4lter werden \u00fcblicherweise in fest definierten Intervallen, unabh\u00e4ngig vom F\u00fcllgrad, geleert. W\u00e4hrend eine verfr\u00fchte Abholung unn\u00f6tige Aufw\u00e4nde und Emissionen zur Folge haben kann, kann eine zu sp\u00e4te Abholung in \u00fcberf\u00fcllten Beh\u00e4ltern und Littering-Verhalten resultieren. Zus\u00e4tzlich kann der Einsatz von Sensorik in Abfallbeh\u00e4ltern zur Verbesserung des Standplatzservice, einem besseren Beh\u00e4ltermanagement und zu neuartigen digitalen Services beitragen. Der Einsatz von Sensorik erfordert jedoch ein Verst\u00e4ndnis der technischen Rahmenbedingungen und den M\u00f6glichkeiten einer zielgerichteten Verwendung. Sensorik wird in der Branche noch nicht umfassend eingesetzt, auch die aktuelle Forschungslage ist fragmentiert und st\u00fctzt sich \u00fcberwiegend auf Simulationsstudien oder praktische Untersuchungen in labor\u00e4hnlichen Szenarien. Dieser Artikel zeigt daher konkret die verschiedenen Auspr\u00e4gungsformen einer sensorbasierten Messung von Beh\u00e4lterf\u00fcllgraden auf. Basierend auf einer multiplen Fallstudie mit drei Entsorgungsunternehmen werden anhand des praktischen Einsatzes von Sensoren zentrale Herausforderungen, Empfehlungen f\u00fcr weitere Pilotprojekte und Anforderungen an zuk\u00fcnftige Entwicklungen abgeleitet. Dieser Artikel bietet damit einerseits eine theoretisch und praktisch fundierte Entscheidungshilfe f\u00fcr Entsorgungsunternehmen, welche den Einsatz von F\u00fcllstandssensoren erw\u00e4gen.
