This fundamental principle \u2013 the \u201cmaxim\u00a0of\u00a0comprehensibility\u201d\u00a0(Maxime der Begreiflichkeit) \u2013 makes knowledge and comprehension the measure of all that \u201ccounts as being valid and as really existing\u201d. But the question arises: How can\u00a0one and the same\u00a0principle act as the \u201cunifying concept\u201d for\u00a0two different\u00a0\u201cmain epochs of human life\u201d?
