Port."],"abstract":"<jats:p>This paper presents a review of research in Portugal on entheseal changes (EC), widely used to record activity-patterns. This is explored chronologically and thematically, from the development of research initially testing of methods on identified collections, to a workshop in 2009, dedicated to EC, through to the recently published outputs of the working groups set up at that meeting. The role of individuals and the world class identified skeletal collections is also discussed. Key trends include the systematic development of recording methods, their testing and the interrogation of the interplay of biology and society in occupation. The recent outputs of all the working groups will inform current and future research, meaning that the Portuguese role in the study of entheses will be long-lived and continue to be of international significance.\u00a0ResumoO presente trabalho apresenta uma revis\u00e3o da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o desenvolvida em Portugal no que concerne o tema das altera\u00e7\u00f5es das enteses (AE), que t\u00eam sido amplamente utilizadas para registar padr\u00f5es de actividade em popula\u00e7\u00f5es do passado. O tema \u00e9 explorado cronol\u00f3gica e tem\u00e1tica, desde o in\u00edcio da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em AE centrado no desenvolvimento de m\u00e9todos testados em cole\u00e7\u00f5es osteol\u00f3gicas identificadas, at\u00e9 \u00e0s recentes publica\u00e7\u00f5es dos v\u00e1rios grupos de trabalho que tiveram origem no workshop de 2009, inclusivamente. Ser\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m discutida a import\u00e2ncia dos investigadores e das cole\u00e7\u00f5es osteol\u00f3gicas identificadas no estudo das AE. Presentemente, as principais tend\u00eancias no estudo das AE incluem o desenvolvimento de m\u00e9todos de registo, a aferi\u00e7\u00e3o da viabilidade e exequibilidade dos mesmos, e a discuss\u00e3o da rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre biologia e sociedade associada ao conceito de ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o.
