VLDB Endow."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2014,10]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Database Management Systems (DBMSs) have been rapidly evolving in the recent years, exploring ways to store multi-structured data or to involve human processes during query execution. In this paper, we outline a future avenue for DBMSs supporting transactive memory queries that can only be answered by a collection of individuals connected through a given interaction graph. We present TransactiveDB and its ecosystem, which allow users to pose queries in order to reconstruct collective human memories. We describe a set of new transactive operators including TUnion, TFill, TJoin, and TProjection.
