They effectively cater to the requirements of data management and high-concurrency access. However, developing a distributed database system that is well-suited for diverse application scenarios, particularly for large-scale applications, presents several challenges. These challenges include ensuring data consistency and achieving high levels of performance.<\/jats:p>\n
This paper presents TDSQL, a distributed database system that prioritizes core design principles of distributed systems, including high availability, strong consistency, and scalability. In particular, TDSQL has achieved high performance through over a decade of practical experience and optimization in various modules, such as the kernel, synchronous replication, and transaction processing, in large-scale application scenarios. By conducting the TPC-C benchmark test, TDSQL demonstrated outstanding performance, achieving a throughput of 814 million tpmC across 1650 database nodes, with a jitter rate of less than 0.2%. This jitter rate is an order of magnitude lower than the standard required, showcasing the system's stability and reliability. During the 8-hour TPC-C standard stress test, TDSQL successfully completed over 860 billion transactions and processed 40 trillion order details, with zero forced rollbacks and zero data inconsistency.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.14778\/3685800.3685812","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,11,8]],"date-time":"2024-11-08T17:25:21Z","timestamp":1731086721000},"page":"3869-3882","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1145\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":12,"title":["TDSQL: Tencent Distributed Database System"],"prefix":"10.14778","volume":"17","author":[{"given":"Yuxing","family":"Chen","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Tencent Inc."}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Anqun","family":"Pan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Tencent Inc."}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Hailin","family":"Lei","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Tencent Inc."}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Anda","family":"Ye","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Tencent Inc."}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Shuo","family":"Han","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Tencent Inc."}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Yan","family":"Tang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Tencent Inc."}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Wei","family":"Lu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Renmin University of China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Yunpeng","family":"Chai","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Renmin University of China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Feng","family":"Zhang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Renmin University of China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Xiaoyong","family":"Du","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Renmin University of China"}],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"320","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,11,8]]},"reference":[{"key":"e_1_2_1_1_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.14778\/3424573.3424578"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_2_1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1145\/3533737.3535090"},{"key":"e_1_2_1_3_1","volume-title":"Intelligent Automated Workload Analysis for Database Replatforming.
