The Nd<jats:sup>3+<\/jats:sup> doped multi-core doubleclad\nfibre incorporated in composite structure was used as\na distributed temperature sensor. The change of luminescence\nintensity (Nd<jats:sup>3+<\/jats:sup> ions) at the wavelength of 880 nm\n(<jats:sup>4<\/jats:sup>F<jats:sub>3\/2<\/jats:sub> \u2192 <jats:sup>4<\/jats:sup>I<jats:sub>9\/2<\/jats:sub>) and 1060 nm (<jats:sup>4<\/jats:sup>F<jats:sub>3\/2<\/jats:sub> \u2192 <jats:sup>4<\/jats:sup>I<jats:sub>11\/2<\/jats:sub>) was used for\ninternal temperature monitoring. The special construction\nof optical fibre was used as it assures an efficient pumping\nmechanism and, at same time, it increases the measuring\nsensitivity. The linear response with relative sensitivity\n0.015 K<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup> was obtained for temperature range from 30 up\nto 75\u00baC.
