In this response, we consider each of the concerns in the context of training needs analysis. We conclude that the ESDA framework appears to hold promise as a training needs analysis tool. However, further dialogue between the experts in the ESDA approach and those in training is required to realize this potential. <\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1518\/001872098779649364","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2007,1,25]],"date-time":"2007-01-25T05:21:14Z","timestamp":1169702474000},"page":"685-687","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["On Learning to Play with Other Kids\u2032 Toys: A Response to Sanderson and Benda"],"prefix":"10.1177","volume":"40","author":[{"given":"Clint A.","family":"Bowers","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Central Florida"}]},{"given":"Florian","family":"Jentsch","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Central Florida"}]},{"given":"Eduardo","family":"Salas","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Florida"}]}],"member":"179","published-online":{"date-parts":[[1998,12,1]]},"reference":[{"key":"atypb1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1518\/001872098779649265"},{"key":"atypb2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1518\/001872098779649328"},{"key":"atypb3","first-page":"1471","volume-title":"Handbook of human factors and ergonomics","author":"Sanderson, P.","year":"1997","edition":"2"}],"container-title":["Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1518\/001872098779649364","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"text-mining"},{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1518\/001872098779649364","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2025,3,11]],"date-time":"2025-03-11T06:33:42Z","timestamp":1741674822000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/10.1518\/001872098779649364"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[1998,12]]},"references-count":3,"journal-issue":{"issue":"4","published-print":{"date-parts":[[1998,12]]}},"alternative-id":["10.1518\/001872098779649364"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1518\/001872098779649364","relation":{},"ISSN":["0018-7208","1547-8181"],"issn-type":[{"type":"print","value":"0018-7208"},{"type":"electronic","value":"1547-8181"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[1998,12]]}}}
