Estimou-se a contribui\u00e7\u00e3o da escola brasileira em tr\u00eas dimens\u00f5es: promo\u00e7\u00e3o da aprendizagem em L\u00edngua Portuguesa e Matem\u00e1tica, no per\u00edodo de 2011 a 2015 (valor acrescentado); influ\u00eancia diferenciada nas aprendizagens ocorridas durante o per\u00edodo em an\u00e1lise, tendo como refer\u00eancia o n\u00edvel de conhecimento dos alunos \u00e0 entrada, no 5\u00ba ano (efic\u00e1cia diferencial); e influ\u00eancia diferenciada nas aprendizagens ocorridas durante esse per\u00edodo, tendo como refer\u00eancia o n\u00edvel socioecon\u00f4mico dos alunos (equidade social). Foram testadas ainda vari\u00e1veis sociodemogr\u00e1ficas do aluno, tais como sexo, cor\/ra\u00e7a, situa\u00e7\u00e3o face ao trabalho e se a m\u00e3e \u00e9 ou n\u00e3o alfabetizada. O artigo apresenta resultados inovadores de efic\u00e1cia educacional no Brasil, mostrando que, ao contr\u00e1rio do que consta na literatura internacional, a magnitude do indicador de valor acrescentado \u00e9 similar \u00e0 encontrada em estudos em pa\u00edses desenvolvidos.
