Neste texto, a partir de um trabalho etnogr\u00e1fico recente, prop\u00f5e-se um encontro, mais de 30 anos depois, com as vozes daqueles cujas vidas foram afetadas pelo desastre de Bhopal. Esta abordagem pretende convocar leituras sobre o tempo, a viol\u00eancia e as demarca\u00e7\u00f5es de humanidade que definem a mem\u00f3ria social. Em particular, pretende-se questionar os processos pelos quais algumas vidas s\u00e3o desproporcionadamente expostas \u00e0 viol\u00eancia e fracassam em receber justa compensa\u00e7\u00e3o, bem como os itiner\u00e1rios pelos quais alguns sofrimentos s\u00e3o tendencialmente elididos da mem\u00f3ria social do Ocidente.
