O Afrocentrismo, principalmente na vers\u00e3o elaborada por Asante, prop\u00f5e a revis\u00e3o radical e a supera\u00e7\u00e3o do paradigma euroc\u00eantrico. O alicerce desta proposta \u00e9 a ideia de que o pensamento filos\u00f3fico e cient\u00edfico surgiu em \u00c1frica, nomeadamente na civiliza\u00e7\u00e3o eg\u00edpcia, considerada \u201cnegra\u201d, de acordo com a li\u00e7\u00e3o de Anta Diop. As provas de matriz hist\u00f3rica utilizadas pelos afrocentristas foram largamente contestadas. O artigo pretende evidenciar a forte liga\u00e7\u00e3o entre elabora\u00e7\u00e3o filos\u00f3fica, aparato ideol\u00f3gico e \u201cinven\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d duma tradi\u00e7\u00e3o hist\u00f3rica por parte do Afrocentrismo, cujo uso instrumental das fontes entra em choque com as regras b\u00e1sicas da ci\u00eancia hist\u00f3rica.
