Assim, foi proposta aos alunos de quatro turmas do 9.\u00ba ano (14-15 anos) uma tarefa STEM, com \u00eanfase em S, T e M, que permitia o estabelecimento de conex\u00f5es matem\u00e1ticas. O tema foi aterosclerose, cujo desenvolvimento teve o intuito de elaborar um modelo matem\u00e1tico, traduzido por uma fun\u00e7\u00e3o quadr\u00e1tica que descrevesse a redu\u00e7\u00e3o da quantidade de sangue com o aumento da espessura da placa de gordura, observada por meio de uma simula\u00e7\u00e3o. A aula em que foi desenvolvida a tarefa envolveu os seguintes momentos: i) apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o da tarefa, simula\u00e7\u00e3o e resolu\u00e7\u00e3o da situa\u00e7\u00e3o, elabora\u00e7\u00e3o de um relat\u00f3rio; ii) identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de conex\u00f5es realizadas; iii) reflex\u00e3o sobre a tarefa. Neste artigo, analisamos, por meio do m\u00e9todo indutivo, os dados do segundo e terceiro momentos. Os resultados mostram que os alunos conseguiram estabelecer conex\u00f5es intramatem\u00e1ticas, extramatem\u00e1ticas e as que definimos sem conex\u00e3o com a matem\u00e1tica. Entretanto, houve dificuldades para justific\u00e1-las, em particular as primeiras. Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s aprendizagens, os alunos destacaram ter adquirido conhecimentos relativos \u00e0 doen\u00e7a, deixando os matem\u00e1ticos em segundo plano.
