Soc."],"abstract":"<jats:p>RESUMO: Este artigo analisou algumas das mais importantes caracter\u00edsticas das pol\u00edticas educativas contempor\u00e2neas, especialmente aquelas que t\u00eam sido introduzidas pelas reformas gerencialistas da educa\u00e7\u00e3o p\u00fablica. Retomando v\u00e1rios trabalhos que publicou ao longo dos \u00faltimos anos sobre esse tema, o autor destacou o processo de impregna\u00e7\u00e3o empresarial das escolas, a privatiza\u00e7\u00e3o lato sensu como princ\u00edpio reformador, a hegemonia da educa\u00e7\u00e3o e forma\u00e7\u00e3o vocacional, as pr\u00e1ticas meritocr\u00e1ticas promotoras de desigualdades e a crise da democracia nas escolas.
