Henrich procura esclarecer e recuperar os fundamentos da teoria do conhecimento de Kant, dos quais seus seguidores teriam se distanciado, a partir da an\u00e1lise da dedu\u00e7\u00e3o transcendental das categorias. De in\u00edcio, Henrich investiga a estrutura da prova na dedu\u00e7\u00e3o, comparando a primeira e a segunda edi\u00e7\u00e3o da Cr\u00edtica da Raz\u00e3o Pura. Em seguida, Henrich investiga no argumento kantiano a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre o princ\u00edpio de identidade da consci\u00eancia de si, por um lado, e objetividade, por outro.
