Bras."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2017,5]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>RESUMO: Desmama \u00e9 uma fase cr\u00edtica na vida do su\u00edno devido a separa\u00e7\u00e3o materna e a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de uma dieta seca. A termografia infravermelha medida na regi\u00e3o ocular se mostra como um indicador confi\u00e1vel para a condi\u00e7\u00e3o de estresse pontual de su\u00ednos. O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre medidas de termografia infravermelha da superf\u00edcie ocular e de cortisol em situa\u00e7\u00f5es de estresse em leit\u00f5es na p\u00f3s desmama. Foram avaliados 66 leit\u00f5es, uma vez por semana, durante sete semanas, em dois per\u00edodos do dia (7h e 15h) com medidas de temperatura superficial ocular, temperatura superficial do dorso e amostras de saliva para determina\u00e7\u00e3o de cortisol salivar. A an\u00e1lise estat\u00edstica contemplou os efeitos fixos de semana e per\u00edodo do dia e sua intera\u00e7\u00e3o e correla\u00e7\u00f5es de Pearson para rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre termografia ocular, temperatura superficial e cortisol a 5% de signific\u00e2ncia. Cortisol salivar n\u00e3o diferiu entre os per\u00edodos, mas foi superior nas tr\u00eas primeiras semanas ap\u00f3s o desmame (P&lt;0,05). Nas duas primeiras semanas ap\u00f3s a desmama o cortisol apresentou correla\u00e7\u00e3o alta e positiva (P&lt;0,05) com a temperatura ocular m\u00e1xima (0,89) e a temperatura superficial do dorso (0,80). As duas temperaturas superficiais apresentaram uma associa\u00e7\u00e3o moderada positiva (r=0,41; P&lt;0,0001) durante todo o per\u00edodo experimental. Este estudo destaca que a temperatura de superf\u00edcie ocular obtida por meio da termografia infravermelha pode ser um indicador de temperatura de superf\u00edcie corporal e estado de bem-estar de leit\u00f5es em fase de creche, al\u00e9m de ser um m\u00e9todo n\u00e3o invasivo e de r\u00e1pida mensura\u00e7\u00e3o.
