Soc."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2014,6]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>A partir de um estudo conduzido mediante a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de entrevistas semiestruturadas a seis educadoras que trabalham ou trabalharam em escolas progressivas na cidade de Nova Iorque, exploraremos neste texto algumas das propostas que fazem da educa\u00e7\u00e3o progressiva uma alternativa cred\u00edvel para a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de uma educa\u00e7\u00e3o democr\u00e1tica, em oposi\u00e7\u00e3o ao atual quadro neoliberal vigente nos Estados Unidos da Am\u00e9rica. Com base no tratamento das entrevistas feita com recurso a uma an\u00e1lise tem\u00e1tica, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel concluir que a educa\u00e7\u00e3o progressiva se baseia na organiza\u00e7\u00e3o de uma aprendizagem integral que tem em conta a realidade dos alunos e que fortalece a partilha de conhecimentos e responsabilidades, favorecendo a aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o de uma vis\u00e3o cr\u00edtica e da capacidade de intervir no meio
