Soc."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2014,6]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Este artigo apresenta um estudo emp\u00edrico ilustrativo da evolu\u00e7\u00e3o dos modos de regula\u00e7\u00e3o das pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas de ci\u00eancia, atualmente marcadas pelo progressivo aumento do controlo externo da atividade cient\u00edfica. Centrando-se na a\u00e7\u00e3o de um instituto p\u00fablico que operou em Portugal entre 1989 e 2001, o estudo analisa modos de regula\u00e7\u00e3o institucional, i.e., como o Estado procurou orientar e influenciar a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o educacional atrav\u00e9s de uma estrutura vocacionada para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento \u00fatil \u00e0 decis\u00e3o pol\u00edtica. Para al\u00e9m destes modos de regula\u00e7\u00e3o, o estudo identificou outros, resultantes da forma como essas orienta\u00e7\u00f5es foram apropriadas pelos investigadores e reinterpretadas pelos decisores pol\u00edticos, dando conta da complexidade das pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas de
