(Campinas)"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2001,4]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>O prop\u00f3sito deste estudo foi avaliar e comparar os valores de imag\u00e9tica mental e cin\u00e9tica em jovens praticantes de v\u00e1rios niveis competitivos de desportos colectivos e individuais, de dois niveis de escolaridade, com diferentes anos de pr\u00e1tica e que nunca foram submetidos a uma programa de prepara\u00e7\u00e3o psicol\u00f3gica para a competi\u00e7\u00e3o nem a qualquer tipo de teste psicol\u00f3gico. A amostra foi constituida por 366 individuos, 152 do sexo feminino e 214 do masculino. A m\u00e9dia das idades foi 20.29 anos. Os sujeitos aceites para o estudo foram subdivididos em grupos de acordo com as vari\u00e1veis independentes definidas para este estudo. Assim, para o n\u00edvel de escolaridade integraram o grupo UTAD, 205 indiv\u00edduos (50 fem. e 155 masc.) e o grupo 12A com 161 sujeitos (102 fem. e 59 masc.). Quando organizados por tipo de desporto constamos que 143 eram praticantes de modalidades individuais (31 fem. e 112 masc.) e 117 (44 fem. e 73 masc.) de colectivas. Os resultados da compara\u00e7\u00e3o por sexos evidenciaram diferen\u00e7as estatisticamente significativas na componente imag\u00e9tica mental. Foram encontradas diferen\u00e7as entre os diferentes grupos da vari\u00e1vel anos de pr\u00e1tica. Os valores obtidos tendem a refor\u00e7ar algumas das conclus\u00f5es j\u00e1 publicadas e discutidos na literatura desta \u00e1rea do saber.
