M\u00c9TODOS: estudo hist\u00f3rico-social de rituais incorporados ao m\u00e9todo de ensino te\u00f3rico-pr\u00e1tico de Enfermagem em Portugal e no Brasil. Como fontes prim\u00e1rias, foram utilizados documentos escritos (of\u00edcios, apostilas, manuais) e fotogr\u00e1ficos; e como fontes secund\u00e1rias: livros-texto, disserta\u00e7\u00e3o de mestrado, tese de doutoramento e artigos de peri\u00f3dicos. RESULTADOS: descri\u00e7\u00e3o, an\u00e1lise, interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o e s\u00edntese que exp\u00f5e ao leitor uma viagem na hist\u00f3ria quanto aos rituais e mudan\u00e7as ocorridas na forma\u00e7\u00e3o de recursos humanos de enfermagem e sa\u00fade. A simula\u00e7\u00e3o foi discutida em termos da pertin\u00eancia face \u00e0s exig\u00eancias \u00e9ticas, seguran\u00e7a e qualidade em sa\u00fade, avan\u00e7o tecnol\u00f3gico e mudan\u00e7as nos ambientes e contextos da pr\u00e1tica cl\u00ednica.
