Minas"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2007,6]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Apresentam-se, nesse trabalho, os resultados de uma investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em curso sobre a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o do M\u00e9todo da Resist\u00eancia Directa (MRD) para estimar a resist\u00eancia \u00faltima de colunas e vigas de se\u00e7\u00e3o em C afetadas por fen\u00f4menos de intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre modos de instabilidade locais-de-placa e distorcionais. Inicialmente, faz-se uma breve descri\u00e7\u00e3o das f\u00f3rmulas do MRD, destinadas a verificar a seguran\u00e7a de colunas e vigas em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao colapso em modos distorcionais, e aborda-se, tamb\u00e9m, uma extens\u00e3o recentemente proposta para tomar em considera\u00e7\u00e3o os fen\u00f4menos de intera\u00e7\u00e3o referidos anteriormente. Em seguida, descrevem-se os resultados de um estudo param\u00e9trico, efetuado com o programa Abaqus, em que se determinam os valores \"exatos\" da resist\u00eancia \u00faltima de 108 colunas e 90 vigas com diversas geometrias (dimens\u00f5es da se\u00e7\u00e3o transversal e comprimento), todas elas escolhidas de forma a garantir a relev\u00e2ncia dos efeitos da intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre modos de instabilidade locais-de-placa e distorcionais.
