Ambient."],"abstract":"<jats:p>RESUMO Este trabalho teve por objetivo produzir lodo granular aer\u00f3bio num reator em batelada sequencial n\u00e3o tubular, uma geometria diferente da usualmente utilizada nesses sistemas. Este reator foi inoculado com lodo ativado proveniente de uma esta\u00e7\u00e3o de tratamento de esgoto municipal. O reator foi operado com ciclos de seis horas, com cinco horas de rea\u00e7\u00e3o totalmente aer\u00f3bia. O efluente simulado continha um derivado de amido usado na ind\u00fastria t\u00eaxtil. A indu\u00e7\u00e3o da granula\u00e7\u00e3o foi conseguida por meio da redu\u00e7\u00e3o gradual do tempo de sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o, verificando-se que este \u00e9 um par\u00e2metro cr\u00edtico do sistema. Ap\u00f3s estabiliza\u00e7\u00e3o, com um tempo de sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o de 3 minutos, obteve-se um \u00edndice volum\u00e9trico de lodo de 25 mL.gSST-1, uma concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de biomassa de 7 gSST.L-1 e uma efici\u00eancia de remo\u00e7\u00e3o da demanda qu\u00edmica de oxig\u00eanio de 88%. Os gr\u00e2nulos obtidos foram armazenados \u00famidos durante 7 meses, a 4 e 25\u00baC, obtendo-se resultados excecionais na repartida dos reatores, com r\u00e1pida recupera\u00e7\u00e3o das suas caracter\u00edsticas de sedimenta\u00e7\u00e3o, taxa de crescimento, estrutura e integridade
