Destaca, entre outros aspetos, a fus\u00e3o da intera\u00e7\u00e3o social com a comunica\u00e7\u00e3o relevando a sua import\u00e2ncia para a defini\u00e7\u00e3o do diagn\u00f3stico e da interven\u00e7\u00e3o em crian\u00e7as com PEA. Confronta ainda as diferentes perspectivas que sustentam argumentos e cr\u00edticas \u00e0 classifica\u00e7\u00e3o proposta pelo DSM-5. Analisa a especificidade da linguagem, do discurso, da pragm\u00e1tica, da pros\u00f3dia da sintaxe, da morfologia e da sem\u00e2ntica na crian\u00e7a com PEA, bem como as suas implica\u00e7\u00f5es na adequa\u00e7\u00e3o e desenvolvimento das suas compet\u00eancias comunicativas. A identifica\u00e7\u00e3o destas compet\u00eancias refor\u00e7a a import\u00e2ncia de uma interven\u00e7\u00e3o o mais precoce poss\u00edvel, realizada nos contextos naturais, da crian\u00e7a e da sua fam\u00edlia, que objetive a potencializa\u00e7\u00e3o de n\u00edveis de envolvimento e participa\u00e7\u00e3o da crian\u00e7a, promotores de oportunidades de aprendizagem e de desenvolvimento das suas compet\u00eancias comunicativas e
