Zootec."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2008,7]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Atendendo ao crescente interesse na produ\u00e7\u00e3o e consumo de carne de caprinos e \u00e0 cada vez maior necessidade de recorrer a metodologias r\u00e1pidas que proporcionem a predi\u00e7\u00e3o da composi\u00e7\u00e3o corporal e qualidade da carca\u00e7a, realizamos uma revis\u00e3o dos \u00faltimos trabalhos realizados com recurso \u00e0 t\u00e9cnica dos ultra-sons. Ap\u00f3s uma breve resenha hist\u00f3rica sobre a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o do uso do m\u00e9todo na caprinicultura, s\u00e3o referidos os princ\u00edpios da t\u00e9cnica e a sua aplica\u00e7\u00e3o aos caprinos (operador, identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de pontos anat\u00f3micos de medida, diferentes medidas corporais e na carca\u00e7a, tipos de aparelhos e sondas e acondicionamento animal). S\u00e3o posteriormente analisados os resultados das principais pesquisas recentemente efectuadas.
