Pesqui."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2011,8]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>O presente artigo constitui uma revis\u00e3o da literatura acerca da efic\u00e1cia dos programas de mentoria escolar na promo\u00e7\u00e3o do desenvolvimento socioemocional e instrumental de jovens. Para tal, procedeu-se a uma compara\u00e7\u00e3o entre as investiga\u00e7\u00f5es emp\u00edricas mais significativas sobre o assunto. A partir dessa an\u00e1lise, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel verificar que os resultados atribu\u00eddos a programas de mentoria s\u00e3o contradit\u00f3rios e, tendencialmente, de magnitude reduzida. Diversas fragilidades metodol\u00f3gicas parecem afectar os resultados obtidos na maior parte dos trabalhos avaliados, entre as quais se destacam o tamanho reduzido das amostras e a inexist\u00eancia de controlo experimental da variabilidade inerente aos sujeitos. A par das limita\u00e7\u00f5es metodol\u00f3gicas, a revis\u00e3o de literatura efectuada permitiu ainda identificar varia\u00e7\u00f5es importantes na estrutura\u00e7\u00e3o dos pr\u00f3prios programas de mentoria escolar e uma pondera\u00e7\u00e3o inconsistente de vari\u00e1veis definidoras de boas pr\u00e1ticas. Todos esses factores parecem dificultar a obten\u00e7\u00e3o de conclus\u00f5es s\u00f3lidas sobre a efic\u00e1cia desse tipo de interven\u00e7\u00e3o em meio escolar.
