Pesqui."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2015,12]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Resumo A excel\u00eancia \u00e9 um dos conceitos-chave da nova ret\u00f3rica educativa. Este artigo procura refletir sobre as representa\u00e7\u00f5es sociais de excel\u00eancia partilhadas por diretores e alunos dos dois \u00faltimos anos do ensino m\u00e9dio de duas escolas p\u00fablicas de alto rendimento localizadas em Santiago do Chile, capital de um dos pa\u00edses do mundo mais perme\u00e1vel \u00e0s l\u00f3gicas de mercantiliza\u00e7\u00e3o da educa\u00e7\u00e3o. Prop\u00f5e-se ainda a dar conta dos custos que a demanda da excel\u00eancia envolve, em termos emocionais e de gest\u00e3o dos tempos de lazer e de sociabilidade. Num primeiro momento, caracterizar-se-\u00e1 o sistema educativo chileno e discutir-se-\u00e1 o poliss\u00e9mico conceito de excel\u00eancia, desde as concep\u00e7\u00f5es mais performativas \u00e0s mais enfocadas nos projetos de forma\u00e7\u00e3o integral. A abertura do sistema educativo do Chile \u00e0 privatiza\u00e7\u00e3o, avalia\u00e7\u00e3o e accountabilitydeixaria prever uma forte ades\u00e3o \u00e0 vertente acad\u00eamica da excel\u00eancia por parte dos agentes educativos dessas escolas. No entanto, os dados recolhidos atrav\u00e9s de t\u00e9cnicas intensivas e extensivas (entrevistas individuais com equipes diretivas e estudantes e grupos de discuss\u00e3o e inqu\u00e9ritos por question\u00e1rio com alunos) revelam percep\u00e7\u00f5es matizadas, com os estudantes a integrarem mais vincadamente, na sua representa\u00e7\u00e3o social de excel\u00eancia, dimens\u00f5es n\u00e3o performativistas e utilitaristas.
