{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,7,10]],"date-time":"2026-07-10T09:17:52Z","timestamp":1783675072185,"version":"3.55.0"},"reference-count":0,"publisher":"Bioscientifica","issue":"4","content-domain":{"domain":["journals.bioscientifica.com"],"crossmark-restriction":true},"short-container-title":[],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1963,7,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>SUMMARY<\/jats:title>\n                  <jats:p>The effects of testosterone propionate (TP) and of 17\u03b1-ethyl-19 nor-testosterone (ENT) on the submandibular glands, levator ani muscles and seminal vesicles of castrated mice have been compared. ENT restores submandibular weight and histology about as well as TP but has less effect on the levator ani muscle and much less effect on the seminal vesicles. Both steroids can act directly on the submandibular gland.
