We aim to investigate how climate-resilient street transformations, particularly green streets, intersect with the inclusion of older people in urban environments. Using a qualitative design, thirty semi-structured interviews were conducted with stakeholders across different fields of expertise (M = 48 years; SD = 10.09). Reflexive thematic analysis was applied using an inductive-deductive approach. Our findings reveal that while green streets are widely promoted as multifunctional responses to climate change, their implementation might generate spatial tensions that impact older pedestrians’ inclusion and well-being. These dynamics appear to be shaped by governance, public policies, and older people's participation in decision-making processes. We argue that integrating spatial justice into climate adaptation and an age-friendly agenda is essential to ensure that urban street transformations support active aging and social inclusion in a changing climate.
[[2026,3,30
["Exploring Age-Friendly Streets in a Changing Climate: Stakeholders’ Insights on the Inclusion of Older People
Impact of the built environment and the neighborhood in promoting the physical activity and the healthy aging in older people: An umbrella review
One size fits all?
