XIX e in\u00edcios do XX, com uma refer\u00eancia \u00e0 \u2019outra inf\u00e2ncia\u2019, aquela que se encontrava fora das normas ou \u00e0 margem da sociedade. Norteados por uma metodologia hermen\u00eautica analisaremos essas conce\u00e7\u00f5es, sabendo que n\u00e3o h\u00e1 uma s\u00f3 crian\u00e7a ou uma s\u00f3 inf\u00e2ncia, mas sim crian\u00e7as\/inf\u00e2ncias diferenciadas e transformadas pelas circunst\u00e2ncias e imposi\u00e7\u00f5es sociais de cada \u00e9poca. Os objetivos diluem-se nos tr\u00eas pontos do texto: compreender os significados etimol\u00f3gicos\/conce\u00e7\u00f5es nos dicion\u00e1rios sobre a crian\u00e7a\/inf\u00e2ncia; analisar a conce\u00e7\u00e3o e nomenclaturas da \u2018outra inf\u00e2ncia\u2019; aprofundar o sentido de \u2018outra inf\u00e2ncia\u2019 nos discursos jur\u00eddico-sociais e educativos sobre a sua prote\u00e7\u00e3o e as medidas de interven\u00e7\u00e3o.
