To accomplish this, the teaching of Geography has the mission of boosting the acqui-sition of geo-capabilities. This article has developed a discussion on how to give power to geo-graphic knowledge through geo-capabilities education. It discusses how curricula should be oriented to prepare young people with this kind of knowledge and, finally, how, through robust and transversal knowledge, it can strengthen the geo-consciousness that stimulates in commu-nities, in societies, the culture of the territory. By systematizing the ideas in the recent literature where the debate on geo-capabilities is taking place, we propose an interpretation where the ideas of geo-capacity (to be developed at school, in the curriculum, in the young people), geo--consciousness and territorial culture (to be developed in the community, in society) come to-gether.By adopting the perspective of geo-capabilities in the curricula of Geography teaching, new horizons are opened for young people to experience the plenitude of their citizenship and their humanity.
