Institutions responsible for their safeguarding and classification take a fresh look at various cultural representations and social activities, formally recognizing them as intangible cultural heritage. In Brazil and since the year 2000, the National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN) has been developing programs for classifying Intangible Cultural Assets. The classification processes are complex due to the need to have to transcribe what you feel. Faced with this new demand, a set of indicators is presented that aim to identify existing parameters in each intangible cultural asset that may respond to IPHAN classification guidelines.
