We show that it is consistent (relative to the consistency of <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic> \u2212 2 strong cardinals) that every \u03a3<jats:sup arrange=\"stack\">1<\/jats:sup><jats:sub arrange=\"stack\"><jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic><\/jats:sub>-set of reals is universally Baire yet there is a (lightface) projective well-ordering of the reals.
