We show that if<jats:italic>p<\/jats:italic>is a real type which is internal in a set \u03a3 of partial types in a simple theory, then there is a type<jats:italic>p<\/jats:italic>\u2032 interbounded with<jats:italic>p<\/jats:italic>, which is finitely generated over \u03a3, and possesses a fundamental system of solutions relative to \u03a3.<\/jats:p><jats:p>2.
