{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,4,1]],"date-time":"2026-04-01T12:04:09Z","timestamp":1775045049890,"version":"3.50.1"},"reference-count":0,"publisher":"National Library of Serbia","issue":"4","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2011,1,1]],"date-time":"2011-01-01T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1293840000000},"content-version":"unspecified","delay-in-days":0,"URL":"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-nc-nd\/4.0\/"}],"content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":["ComSIS","COMPUT SCI INF SYST","COMPUT SCI INFORM SY","COMPUTER SCI INFORM","COMSIS J"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2011]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Many energy aware routing algorithms and protocols have been proposed for\n   wireless sensor networks recently to achieve aims like minimum energy\n   consumption, maximized network lifetime, reduced communication latency and\n   overhead etc. The problem of hotspot can not be well addressed under many\n   routing algorithms since some nodes which are on the shortest path or close\n   to the base station tend to deplete their energy quickly and consequently\n   cause network partition. In this paper, we propose a Ring-based Energy Aware\n   Routing (REAR) algorithm for wireless sensor networks which can achieve both\n   energy balancing and energy efficiency for all sensor nodes. Our algorithm\n   considers not only the hop number and distance but also the residual energy\n   of the next hop node during routing process.
