Existing work typically assumes that participants are fully rational and can report their charging preferences accurately. However, this may not be reasonable in settings with non-experts. To explore this, we design a novel game called Bid2Charge and compare a fully expressive interface that covers the entire space of preferences to two restricted interfaces that offer fewer possible reports. We show that restricting the users' preferences significantly reduces deliberation times while also leading to an increase in utility by up to 70%.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.24963\/ijcai.2017\/698","type":"proceedings-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2017,7,28]],"date-time":"2017-07-28T05:14:07Z","timestamp":1501218847000},"page":"4939-4943","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":3,"title":["Evaluating Market User Interfaces for Electric Vehicle Charging using Bid2Charge"],"prefix":"10.24963","author":[{"given":"Sebastian","family":"Stein","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Southampton"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Enrico H.","family":"Gerding","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Southampton"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Adrian","family":"Nedea","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"University of Southampton"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Avi","family":"Rosenfeld","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Jerusalem College of Technology"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Nicholas R.","family":"Jennings","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Imperial College London"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"10584","event":{"number":"26","sponsor":["International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization (IJCAI)","University of Technology Sydney (UTS)","Australian Computer Society (ACS)"],"acronym":"IJCAI-2017","name":"Twenty-Sixth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence","start":{"date-parts":[[2017,8,19]]},"theme":"Artificial Intelligence","location":"Melbourne, Australia","end":{"date-parts":[[2017,8,26]]}},"container-title":["Proceedings of the Twenty-Sixth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence"],"original-title":[],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2017,7,28]],"date-time":"2017-07-28T07:55:11Z","timestamp":1501228511000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.ijcai.org\/proceedings\/2017\/698"}},"subtitle":[],"proceedings-subject":"Artificial Intelligence Research Articles","short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2017,8]]},"references-count":0,"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.24963\/ijcai.2017\/698","relation":{},"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2017,8]]}}}
